A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Quality assurance specialist focusing on performing quality control inspections and reporting non conformances and supporting corrective / preventive actions accordingly.
You will be responsible to ensure non conformances are detected and accurately dispositioned during various steps of production process.
Be the voice of quality and support quality, manufacturing, and other teams to improve the performance and make improvements to the product and manufacturing processes by helping implement preventive and corrective measures for problem areas identified.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Performing detailed incoming materials, in process and / or final inspections on product in fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Reducing non-conformances and / or errors found in production and working with Quality, Engineering, and Production to eliminate and / or prevent repeat issues.
- Ensuring containment activities are performed when a non-conformance is discovered to prevent repeat issues.
- Supporting external and internal customer requests, cost reduction activities, performing lessons learned and standard process sharing within teams.
- Reading electrical schematic drawings and product design drawings versus bill of materials.
- Reading and dissecting bill of materials to settle customer specific inspection items.
- Working as a team member on various multi-functional High Impact Project teams.
- Inspect JFR, SFR, and traction regulators from incoming material and then throughout the production process and prior to shipping for compliance to quality requirements.
- Identify and disposition non-conforming material in conjunction with Production, Purchasing, Supplier Quality and Shipping departments.
- Receive oil shipments, including testing of the oil to ensure compliance. Also perform oil tests as needed for oil storage tanks and regulator units.
- Report and update issues using the Shop Floor Management (SFM) tool, SAP, and other reporting mechanisms as required. Lead actions to mitigate and then correct such issues.

What You Bring
- 3+ years, of experience and technical degree or equivalent experience preferred. Quality department experience is highly preferred and may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to read and understand electrical / mechanical drawings and technical specifications used in the design and production of voltage regulators.
- Ability to interpret and apply IEEE / ANSI standards and ensure application in production.
- Able to create investigation reports and conduct independent solving and analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are key.
- Excellent analytical skills and critical thinking to be able to spot problems quickly and find the underlying causes so changes can be made.
- Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensions and Tolerancing (GD&T) including experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, calipers, and other measuring instruments.
- Color vision sufficient to identify wiring, labels, etc. used in the production of voltage regulators, particularly the ability to differentiate between red, green, and yellow colors.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams.
