Position : Senior C++ Model DeveloperLocation : Vienna, VAOverview : Group W, Inc. (an employee-owned company) is seekingan experienced C++ Model Developer to join a highly respected software engineering team developing modeling and simulation applications for the Department of Defense.

The applications employ a wide variety of technologies and disciplines, including computer science, discrete event simulation, operations research, relational database, combinatorial optimization, graph theory, graphical user interface and data visualization.

The software engineering process includes formal software configuration management, coding standards and peer reviews.Requirements : Four-year STEM degree (Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, etc.

5+ years' progressive programming experienceExperience in the analysis, development, and implementation of softwareU.S. CitizenshipPreferred : MS in Computer SciencePassion for developing softwareSolid computer programming skills in C++Experience developing simulation software to solve complex military problemsExperience with modifying code to be STIG and static code analyzer compliantExperience with the Synthetic Theater Operations Research Model (STORM)5+ years' progressive programming experience in C++Knowledge of military operationsExperience with linear programming, mixed integer programming, database creation, OS / tool chain development, and / or UX / UI developmentExperience with the following software (or software that provides the same functionality) : gcc, MySQL, GTK+, XML, bison, Microsoft Office API, OpenMap, git tool, gdbAbility to obtain and maintain the minimum of a Secret security clearanceResponsibilities : Develop software using open-source tools on Linux operating systemsConsult and coordinate with team members on system design and functionalityAnalyze problem reports from users and resolve software defectsAbout Group W : Group W is a 100% employee-owned company that hires imaginative people to provide analysis, modeling, simulation, wargaming, and research, for visionary clients in government, commercial, and non-governmental entities.

Salary : $120,000 to $180,000 (provided as a general guideline only. Compensation dependent upon relevant work experience related to the scope of the position, education, training, and market considerations).
