Position Information Working Title Adjunct Faculty Member - College of Natural & Behavioral Sciences - School of Engineering and Computing / Physics, Computer Science & Engineering Appointment Type Adjunct Purpose of Position Christopher Newport University’s College of Natural and Behavioral Sciences is accepting applications from prospective adjunct faculty members to teach individual courses, as needed, in Spring 2026, and beyond.

Potential courses include :

• Introduction to Computing
• Software Packages – Business Applications (Microsoft Excel, Access)
• Introduction to Programming (Python)
• Physics Labs (various levels)
• Physics – How Things Work
• Astronomy

Along with demonstrated ability for excellent teaching, candidates must hold an earned graduate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited university in a relevant discipline, with 18 completed semester hours of graduate course work in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Science or another closely related field. Departmental Information The Department of Physics, Computer Science & Engineering at Christopher Newport University employs 32 full-time faculty and staff who collaborate closely across disciplines. Together we offer six undergraduate majors and a Master’s program.
