Application Programmer III

Location: Chandler, Arizona (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Contract

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Role Overview

This role offers an opportunity to contribute to core technology infrastructure using API-driven cloud and container engineering technology. The position involves the agile sprint-based delivery of lean container base image technology for various runtimes. This includes hands-on engineering of internal cloud technology utilizing Terraform, Java Microservices, and modern automation practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver lean container base image technology for runtimes such as OpenJDK, .Net, Apache, and Tomcat within an agile sprint framework.
• Perform hands-on engineering of internal cloud technology using Terraform and Java Microservices.
• Provide Level 3 support to internal customers utilizing the container base images and cloud APIs.
• Utilize Git for source control, including branching, merging, and pull requests.
• Operate within an agile enterprise environment, participating in SCRUM and daily standups.
• Engage in test-driven development practices, including the use of Cucumber.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

• 6+ years of core Java programming.
• 4+ years with containers and Kubernetes (such as OpenShift, Docker, or Podman).
• 4+ years of Linux administration.
• 2+ years of Terraform module development.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Golang, Terraform, and Terraform Enterprise (TFE).
• Development of Java Microservices.
• Experience with the Spring framework, including Spring Boot and transactional backend development.
• Knowledge of Linux and systems automation.
• Familiarity with OCI container-based private cloud environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of Go-lang programming experience.
• 4+ years of middleware experience.
• 4+ years of relational database experience.
• Experience within the financial sector.
• Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills.

Work Environment

This position requires a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week onsite.
