Job Description

Job Title: LMMS Expert


Job Type: Contract


Location: Remote


Job Summary:

Join our customer's team as an LMMS Expert, where your mastery of music production within LMMS (Linux MultiMedia Studio) will directly shape the way advanced AI learns music creation. You'll demonstrate and articulate your complete workflow, from creative conception to polished final export, showcasing your ability to manage all production phases across any genre or project type.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Produce and document entire music projects within LMMS, from the initial idea to final master export.
  2. Demonstrate creative and technical decision-making throughout composition, sound design, arrangement, mixing, and mastering processes.
  3. Showcase hands-on expertise using LMMS on Linux, Mac, and Windows operating systems.
  4. Work with a variety of genres and project types, including electronic, hip-hop, pop, game audio, experimental, or podcasts.
  5. Utilize and explain advanced LMMS features: MIDI sequencing, effect processing, plugin integration, automation, and problem-solving techniques.
  6. Communicate your workflow, challenges, and rationale via clear written and verbal updates as part of a collaborative documentation process.
  7. Contribute feedback and insights to help refine AI models that aim to emulate authentic, professional music production practices.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Proven, hands-on expertise completing full music production projects using LMMS as the primary DAW.
  2. Comprehensive understanding of sound design, mixing, and music arrangement within LMMS.
  3. Proficiency operating LMMS on Linux, Mac, or Windows platforms.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate production concepts and creative choices.
  5. Demonstrated experience taking audio projects from concept to final export, independently managing all phases.
  6. Familiarity working with a wide range of project types and genres.
  7. Problem-solving attitude and ability to document real-world workflows in detail.


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience delivering educational content, tutorials, or workflow walkthroughs for music production.
  2. Background in collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, especially on technical or creative projects.
  3. Passion for music technology, digital audio tools, and AI-driven creative solutions.
