Coding & Robotics Summer Camp Instructor

Love to Code AcademyKansas City, MO, US

Job type
  • Part-time
Job description

We grow kids, not just coders.

Love to Code Academy is seeking energetic and engaging Part-Time Summer Camp Instructors to run coding and robotics camps for K–5 students. This is a hands-on, high-energy role where instructors guide students through coding, robotics, and problem-solving activities while helping them build confidence, teamwork, persistence, and leadership.

This is a part-time role (20–25 hours per week) with camps taking place Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at our Kansas City location.

Instructors may work across a variety of summer camp settings depending on experience and program needs, including:

  • K–2 Coding & Robotics Camps
  • 3–5 Coding & Robotics Camps

We provide a structured curriculum and training, so instructors can concentrate on leading engaging, hands-on learning experiences.

At Love to Code Academy, instructors are not lecture-based teachers. They are coaches of character. You will create a supportive environment, guide students through challenges, reinforce positive behaviors, and ensure students are actively engaged in meaningful, project-based learning every day.

Students build games, robots, and interactive projects, but more importantly, they build character.

We are an early-stage program with a strong foundation, and this role plays a direct part in shaping and growing our programs. If you are looking for meaningful work where you can lead, coach, and make a visible impact on students, this is that opportunity.

Interested in after-school programming? Reach out to learn more about our Fall 2026 openings.

Compensation level based on your expertise and proficiency.

Compensation:

$21 - $32 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Lead structured, engaging coding and robotics camp sessions for elementary school students
  • Create and maintain a positive, high-energy classroom culture centered on engagement, effort, and accountability
  • Manage classroom behavior and uphold program expectations consistently
  • Guide students through challenges using a coaching mindset (support without over-instructing)
  • Reinforce character development traits such as teamwork, persistence, responsibility, and leadership
  • Support hands-on projects involving coding tools and robotics kits (Scratch, LEGO Robotics, MakeCode, VEX, etc.)
  • Keep students actively engaged, on task, and progressing through their projects
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with students, staff, and families as needed
  • Ensure classroom materials, structure, and environment are consistently prepared and maintained
  • Follow Love to Code Academy systems to ensure consistent program quality

Qualifications:
  • Ability to manage and lead small groups of elementary school students
  • Comfortable maintaining structure, expectations, and student engagement
  • Ability to coach students through challenges without giving direct answers
  • Energetic, responsible, and reliable
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with coding or robotics tools such as Scratch, MakeCode, LEGO Robotics, or VEX Robotics
  • Experience working with kids (teaching, coaching, camps, tutoring, youth programs, STEM programs) and classroom management skills
  • Experience with coding, robotics, or technology-based learning environments

About Company

Love to Code Academy is a youth character development academy built on a single belief: the most important thing students build here is not a program or a robot — it is character.

Through coding, robotics, and esports, students develop the traits that matter most in life — teamwork, persistence, integrity, confidence, and leadership. Technology is the environment. Character development is the outcome.
