KNOW CARS, KNOW COMPUTERS & KNOW HOW TO TALK TO CUSTOMERS?
Apache Muffler is looking for an experienced automotive person who can handle BOTH sides of a busy shop — the front counter AND hands-on exhaust work.
This position requires more than knowing how to weld and bend pipe. We need someone who is comfortable on a computer, organized, good with customers, and able to keep up with a busy front office.
A big part of your day will be at the FRONT DESK.
You’ll be answering phones, responding to customers, scheduling appointments, entering customer and vehicle information into our computer system, writing up jobs and estimates, processing payments, keeping track of work in the shop, and communicating with customers from drop-off to pickup.
When the shop needs an extra set of experienced hands, you also need to be able to jump in and help with exhaust work.
WHAT WE NEED:
• Strong computer skills — you MUST be comfortable learning and working in computer-based shop software
• Good typing and data-entry skills
• Ability to answer phones professionally and handle multiple calls and customers
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to write up jobs, estimates, invoices, and customer information accurately
• Comfortable scheduling appointments and keeping the day's workload organized
• Able to process credit card and other customer payments
• Able to communicate between customers and technicians so nothing gets missed
• Detail-oriented — names, phone numbers, vehicle information, pricing, and payments need to be entered correctly
• Able to multitask without getting flustered when the phone is ringing and customers are at the counter
• 3+ years of hands-on exhaust or automotive repair experience
• Welding, fabrication, and pipe-bending experience
• Comfortable helping with exhaust and light mechanical work when needed
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work without being babysat

THIS IS NOT JUST AN EXHAUST TECH POSITION.
We are specifically looking for someone with automotive experience who is also GOOD WITH COMPUTERS, GOOD WITH CUSTOMERS, AND COMFORTABLE RUNNING A FRONT COUNTER.
If you’re great with cars but hate computers or dealing with customers, this probably isn’t the job for you.
But if you can work a computer, handle a customer, write up a job AND jump into the shop when needed, we want to talk to you.
