Job Description:
Power BI Developer Finance Reporting & Analytics

Position Overview
We are seeking a Power BI Developer to support the Finance organization in identifying, designing, and delivering reporting and analytics opportunities across Finance processes.
The resource will work closely with Finance business analysts, data architects and business process owners to translate reporting requirements into scalable, user-friendly Power BI dashboards and analytical solutions.
The ideal candidate will have strong Power BI development skills combined with an understanding of Finance processes, SAP financial data, data modeling, and enterprise reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Finance Reporting & Analytics
Partner with Finance stakeholders to identify and prioritize reporting and analytics opportunities.
Translate business requirements into intuitive Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
Develop reporting solutions supporting areas such as:
o General Ledger
o Accounts Payable
o Accounts Receivable
o Record-to-Report
o Financial Close
o Fixed Assets
o Intercompany
o Cost Center and Profit Center reporting
o Working Capital
o Procurement and spend
o Develop executive dashboards and operational reports for Finance leadership.
o Identify opportunities to replace manual Excel-based reporting with automated and governed Power BI solutions.

Power BI Development
Design and develop Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and datasets.
Develop advanced DAX measures and calculations to support complex Finance reporting requirements.
Build optimized data models using appropriate dimensional modeling techniques.
Develop reusable reporting components and standardized Finance reporting templates.
Implement drill-down, drill-through, filtering, interactive visualization, and self-service reporting capabilities.
Optimize Power BI reports and datasets for performance and usability.

SAP & Finance Data
Work with SAP FICO teams to understand the underlying financial data and business processes.
Partner with data engineering and architecture teams to consume curated data from enterprise data platforms such as Databricks.
Ensure Power BI reporting aligns with approved Finance data definitions and KPIs.

Data Modeling & Integration
Design semantic models that support consistent and scalable Finance reporting.
Work with SQL and enterprise data platforms to source and transform reporting data.
Collaborate with data engineers to define required datasets, transformations, and data quality rules.
Develop appropriate relationships, hierarchies, calculated measures, and business logic.
Ensure reporting datasets are optimized for refresh performance and scalability.

Reporting Governance & Quality
Follow enterprise Power BI development and governance standards.
Implement appropriate workspace, dataset, report, and access/security models.
Support row-level security (RLS) where required.
Validate data accuracy and reconcile Power BI outputs against SAP and other authoritative sources.
Participate in testing, UAT, deployment, and production support.
Maintain documentation for reports, datasets, data sources, and business definitions.

Stakeholder Engagement
Conduct requirements workshops with Finance business users.
Convert complex business requirements into clear technical specifications.
Demonstrate prototypes and gather stakeholder feedback.
Explain reporting capabilities and limitations

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
5+ years of Power BI development experience in an enterprise environment.
Strong hands-on experience with:
o Power BI Desktop
o Power BI Service
o DAX
o Power Query
o SQL
o Data modeling
Experience developing enterprise-scale dashboards and semantic models.
Strong understanding of dimensional modeling and data visualization principles.
Experience gathering requirements directly from business stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Finance Experience Preferred
Experience developing Finance or Accounting reporting solutions.
Understanding of SAP Finance related data

Technical Skills Preferred
Power BI certification such as Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
Experience with Databricks or other cloud data platforms.
Experience with Azure Data Factory, Fabric, Synapse, or similar technologies.
Experience integrating Power BI with SAP and enterprise data warehouses/lakehouses.
Experience with Power BI deployment pipelines and enterprise governance.
Experience implementing row-level security and workspace security.
Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric is a plus.
Exposure to AI-enabled analytics and natural-language querying is a plus.
