Reports To: High School Building Administrator
Position Summary: The Career and Technical Education (Cte) Director ensures the efficient operation and management of the Cte programs and supports the system's overall educational responsibility.
Qualification Requirements: State of Michigan Administrative Certification preferred. Hold a valid vocational certification or recent and relevant experience to be authorized annually.
Experience: Possess at least three (3) years of experience teaching state-approved Cte Courses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Gather UIC Information for state reporting requirements twice a year.
Billing information for Lincoln School Tuition.
Serve as fiscal agent for the district, approving reports and documents for the state reporting.
Attend state Cte director meetings twice a year.
Approve expenditures throughout all programs.
Approve and manipulate Perkins funding to meet the district's needs.
Organize tours of Cte programs for 8th-grade and 10th-grade students.
Collect funds from Cte programs and prepare deposits.
Attend monthly County Cte meetings.
Oversee CIP Self Review.
Oversee advisory committee meetings for individual programs to meet state requirements.
Oversee work-based learning for students.
Manage Cte Student activity funds for student competitions and student needs.
Oversee equipment grants and all purchases pertaining to the grant liaison with Lincoln Consolidated Schools concerning participation in our programs.
Assist and guide teachers through new program applications.
Review programs CIP Self-reviews.
Oversee Cte Follow-up survey for state compliance.
Assist in searching for teacher and teaching assistant applicants to fill Cte positions.
Organize Cte-specific professional development meetings.
Assist in answering day-to-day teacher questions and issues.
Present Cte Student Expectations and guidelines to the students in each program at the start of the year.
Compile year-end reporting data for work-based learning, certification, follow-up information, and computer status.
Work closely with the Wisd to maintain Cte compliance with state regulations.
Work to obtain articulation agreements through the programs for secondary schools.
Serve as community liaison for the programs.
Seek donations and involvement for our programs from community businesses.
Assist with student discipline issues within the programs.
Process purchase orders and budgets for Cte programs.
Process Check Requests for payments and reimbursements.
Approve and submit stipend requests for instructors.
Transfer Titles for donated vehicles.
Create collectively with central donation letters for program donations.
