Motive Power applications include industrial lift trucks and pallet jacks, rail equipment, mining equipment, and airline ground support equipment. Job Purpose

The Sr. Manager, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) provides strategic leadership and oversight of EHS programs across TPPL's Missouri manufacturing facilities and distribution operations. This role ensures regulatory compliance, drives standardization and continuous improvement, supports expansion initiatives, and advances a strong, sustainable safety culture aligned with TPPL's fiveyear plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee EHS performance for all Missouri manufacturing and distribution operations.
  • Drive standardized EHS policies, procedures, and work practices, including blood lead programs, risk assessments, and safety systems.
  • Utilize EOS tools, KPIs, A3s, and Rapid Improvement Events to improve EHS performance and accountability.
  • Analyze EHS data to identify trends, prioritize initiatives, and deliver measurable improvement.
  • Oversee EHSrelated CAPEX projects, budgets, and costreduction initiatives.
  • Provide EHS leadership for facility expansions, equipment installations, and new systems.
  • Serve as primary liaison with regulatory agencies (e.g., MDNR); manage permitting, inspections, audits, and compliance reporting.
  • Lead environmental compliance activities, including air modeling, stack testing, NESHAP/NSPS requirements, and permit renewals.
  • Standardize and support wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) operations and improvements.
  • Oversee digital EHS platforms and systems (e.g., SAI360, IoT tools); ensure timely action and closeout.
  • Lead ISO 14001 standardization and certification efforts.
  • Oversee thirdparty risk assessments and corrective action implementation.
  • Support workers' compensation case management in partnership with HR.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and corporate EHS requirements.

Provide EHS support to other EnerSys locations as needed at the direction of the EHS Director

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental, Safety, or a related technical field.
  • Ten (10) years of EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
  • Proven experience with permits, regulatory reporting, and agency interaction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in a technical or EHSrelated field.
  • Experience in battery manufacturing or related technologies.
  • Experience with new product introductions and largescale capital projects.

Required

  • Minimum five (5) years of people leadership experience in EHS.

Lean or continuous improvement experience.
