Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
The Engineering Technician will serves as the construction representative for large and complex infrastructure projects at Creech AFB, including mechanical, electrical, and structural systems. Responsible for monitoring construction progress, ensuring contract compliance, managing documentation, and coordinating with contractors and government stakeholders.
This position is contigent upon the award of the contract.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee construction operations for technically complex projects involving base facilities and utility systems.
- Develop project documents such as SOWs, IGCEs, RFIs, funding documents, change orders, and AF / DoD forms.
- Review plans / specs for feasibility and participate in pre-bid / pre-construction meetings; clarify technical requirements for contractors.
- Inspect construction progress, materials, methods, and workmanship to ensure compliance with plans, specs, and safety / environmental standards
- Review and approve contractor submittals and shop drawings; authorize minor changes and substitutions.
- Document daily inspections, maintain logs, and prepare reports on work status and performance.
- Recommend contract modifications, estimate associated costs, and prepare related documentation.
- Support change order negotiations and track modifications using project management software.
- Serve as liaison between contracting officers and project engineers, providing cost and schedule expertise.
- Ensure proper recordkeeping for closeout, "as-built" drawings, and updates to real property records.
- Maintain electronic project files and status reports in accordance with procedures.
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental codes.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with all project stakeholders.
