Job description

Title : PROJECT ENGINEER

Reports to : PROJECT MANAGER

Annual Salary : $75K - $110K+ (Depending On Experience)

JOB OVERVIEW

The Project Engineer will support, manage, and optimize Cornerstone’s project management process. The Project Engineer will also act as an onsite representative between Cornerstone and the respective clients and their designates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides direct support to the project team both in-office and on-site; supports the project manager in the implementation of team member purpose, direction, motivation, and development
  • Under guidance from the project manager, assists with managing the success of the project team and maximizing customer satisfaction based on project timeline, budget, and achieving financial targets, as applicable
  • Exemplifies Cornerstone’s Mission and Vision; sets the example by treating every client, design partners, subcontractors, and internal crew as if they were critical to the organization’s overall success
  • Supports project success, efficiency, and coordination through a strong working relationship, clear and concise communication, and day-to-day relationships with the Project Managers, Superintendents, and other key stakeholders
  • Responsible for the adherence to day-to-day internal controls designed to mitigate financial, reputational, legal, and safety risks; ensures all quality control challenges, issues, and findings are addressed immediately
  • Assists the Project Manager as the project liaison for identifying change orders, material orders, weekly labor costs, and reviewing all invoices prior to submission
  • Participates in preconstruction, on-going, and “close-out” meetings, reviews, evaluations, and proposals, as needed, based on previous project outcomes, experience, and the individual aspects of each project

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years experience in construction
  • 1-2 years of Project Engineering experience
  • Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management
  • 2-3 years of Project Engineering experience
  • 3-5 years experience in construction
  • 2+ years experience in vertical construction
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee is required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have sufficient mobility to climb ladders, access tight spaces, and inspect concealed but accessible spaces within existing buildings.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Office and field, including travel statewide.
