Job Title : Certified Professional Coder

Location : Remote (Must reside in TX, TN, NC, SC, CO, NJ, OK, or AL)

Job Type : Full-Time

We are seeking a highly motivated Certified Professional Coder to join our team. The Certified Professional Coder will be responsible for appropriately coding claims to ensure accurate and compliant billing for office and hospital procedures. The Certified Professional Coder reviews patient charts, ensures accuracy of billing codes, and reports missing or incomplete documentation to the provider organization in a timely manner. The position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, dependability, and a desire for continuous knowledge and professional growth.

Responsibilities :

  • Performs daily coding activities to ensure successful processing and payment of claims for multiple external clients.
  • Reviews patient medical charts and documentation for accuracy and reports missing or incomplete documentation to provider organization in a timely manner.
  • Performs audits on previously coded claims batches and makes all necessary corrections to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensures accuracy of billing codes per ASA / AMA guidelines as well as payer updates and ensures all billing codes are current and active.
  • Serves as a point-of-contact for coding-related questions, issues, and projects.
  • Meets daily coding production and quality metrics as determined by supervisor.
  • Follows established coding guidelines and legal requirements to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Attends coding-related workshops and training sessions to ensure compliance with coding guidelines.
  • Ensures compliance with all HIPAA standards.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements :

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have valid CPC certification by AAPC
  • One (1) to Three (3) years of experience in healthcare coding is required. One (1) year of Anesthesia coding experience is preferred.
