Description

Position Summary:

The person in this position will be responsible for planning and coordinating the clinical Substance Abuse/Mental health services for consumers in residential treatment. Conducts assessments for consumers and provides individual and family therapy. Provides direct supervision to staff assigned to program.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee and coordinate clinical activities for residential programs.
  • Oversee and coordinate treatment services for consumers and their families with substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders.
  • Responsible for reviewing case notes and weeklies on all active cases and make comments and notes on to be discussed in the weekly Case Review Supervision meeting.
  • Meets individually with each staff, weekly, for a 60 90-minute supervision session.
  • Discusses progress or lack thereof, on each case and plan for next week's sessions with Family Services Therapist.
  • Supervises staff meetings and weekly case conference, presentation and consultation of challenging cases, sharing of effective strategies.
  • Responsible for reviewing consumer assessments.
  • Responsible for reviewing Interpretive Summaries.
  • Responsible for reviewing Wellness and Recovery Plans monthly, and as necessary.
  • Document all clinical services and activities in accordance with licensing, Medicaid, and CARF standards and agency policy and procedure.
  • Responsible for ensuring maintenance of clinical records in accord with licensing, Medicaid, and CARF standards and agency policy and procedure.
  • Ensure appropriate collection and submission of clinical and evaluation data for the residential and outpatient programs (e.g. SISAR, ASAM, etc.)
  • Participate in case conference.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate wellness groups and therapeutic-oriented activities focused on physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and behavioral health.
  • Deliver psychoeducational groups that support recovery, relapse prevention, stress management, healthy coping skills, mindfulness, and self-care.
  • Provide therapeutic services inclusive of individual counseling, treatment planning, assessment facilitation, discharge planning, and treatment collaboration with clinical team to caseload overflow if/when deemed necessary per staffing and/or census patterns
  • Represent the agency, as requested, at meetings of funding agencies, governmental authorities, seminars, workshops, etc.
  • Participate in the discharge planning process for the consumer and family.
  • Responsible for reviewing Discharge Summaries.
  • Determine eligibility of consumers for Medicaid or other third-party payment.
  • Provides referral and linkage for ancillary services for the consumer and family, as needed
  • Responsible for inputting and reviewing incident reports.
  • Completes all orientation and mandated training activities, including E-Learning Courses, within required timeframes, and in accordance with the criteria established for this position.
  • Understands HIPAA, Professional Ethics, Consumer Rights and Confidentiality
  • Participate in performance improvement activities
  • Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

Certifications/Licensures:

  • Certification as a CAP or MCAP, in good standing by an agency approved and recognized by the Florida Certification Board is preferred at time of hire; Preference will be given to those candidates who are currently Certified;
  • Licensure as a LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in good standing by an agency approved and recognized by the state of Florida is required at time of hire.

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited masters program with a degree in Addiction Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology or related field is required

Experience and Competencies:

  • Two years of previously supervised work experience in providing individual/family therapy is required
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • Maintains confidential files and records
  • The ability to determine eligibility of a consumer's admission
  • The ability to evaluate the impact of substance use and mental health problems on the consumer's functioning in major life areas
  • Knowledge of the inter-relationship among substance use, mental health, and primary care disorders
  • Knowledge in the understanding of Motivational Interviewing; Motivational Enhancement Therapy; Comprehensive, Continuous Integrated System of Care (CCISC);Trauma-Informed Care, and proficiency of nurturing Parenting Curriculum
  • Demonstrate proficiency is the administration and interpretation of the below listed assessments, as needed:
    • SMQ10
    • PCL-5
    • ASAM
    • Confidence Questionnaire
    • Child/Adult Behavioral Checklist
    • Overdose screening
    • SISAR/CFARS/Mental health outcome
    • GPRA
    • Locus
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of A-CRA and ACC
  • Demonstrate proficiency in individualizing the QRRS, GRRS, and biopsychosocial assessments
  • The ability to interface and communicate with internal and external providers
  • The ability to identify crises when they surface; mitigate or resolve the immediate problem; and de-escalate the situation, including the ability to develop Safety Plans, as needed
  • Knowledge and application of developmental theories
  • Knowledge and application of developmental psychopathology
  • Understanding of family dynamics, family roles, and family structure
  • Understanding and application of federal, state, local and agency confidentiality rules and professional standards of conduct
  • Understanding of professional ethics, consumer rights, and professional responsibilities
  • The ability to assess the individual's growth and development relative to normative development for his/her chronological age, including physical, emotional, cognitive, educational, and social development
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to organize, interpret, and communicate data in a comprehensive and effective manner
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively prioritize
  • Ability to network with internal and external departments and agencies
  • Understands that individuals with distinct community backgrounds have different perceptions of health
