Job description

HEALTH FACILITY EVALUATOR II

The primary function of the Health Facility Evaluator II is to conduct inspections utilizing an established survey process. The survey process includes evaluation of health care facilities for state licensure and federal certification requirements for participation under Medicare/Medicaid. The incumbent will document findings and complete written reports of survey findings. The incumbent may be required to perform surveys as an individual, team member or team leader.

This position has been identified as mission essential. The incumbent in this position may be required to work during the weekend or on holidays. In addition, mission essential personnel will be required to work during disasters, to include but not limited to, work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency work may involve the incumbent to work in another county or staffing location to assist other State Agencies with emergency work.

The incumbent must be proficient with computer equipment and software programs, such as Microsoft Word and Outlook, as well as smart phone technology. The incumbent must also be available to work before and after normal work hours including weekends and holidays. This position may require extensive travel, including significant overnight travel. Successful completion of a criminal background investigation is a condition of employment. A good attendance record is essential for any individual in this position as the work involved occurs daily and is time-critical.

The position has a Competitive Area Differential (CAD) and will be hired at $1,729.11 - $1,982.96 biweekly.

Knowledge of state licensure and federal certification survey requirements. Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing and analyzing data. Ability to prioritize workload. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to communicate effectively. Skills are needed in the techniques of oral communication, especially attentive listening; interview procedures; team dynamics; and methods of performance evaluations/reviews Ability to utilize microcomputer equipment and software to enter, retrieve and manipulate data required to perform supervision of division licensure and certification functions Ability to travel with or without accommodations. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis (laptop computers, manuals, etc.) with or without accommodations.

Minimum qualifications requirements: Three (3) years professional or nonprofessional health care licensure, regulation and/or certification experience is required.
