Keith Company, designs and manufacture state-of-the-art industrial furnaces, kilns, and ovens sold to domestic and international customers. We are currently seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team.
Reporting to the
Electrical Engineer Manager, the Electrical Controls Engineer is responsible for creating Elec design, PLC program, development, implementation, and testing. This involves day-to-day operation with actual manufacturing processes of building furnace equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Knowledge of Industrial Automation.
• Develop and maintain PLC applications that experience with Allen Bradley, Automation Direct is a plus.
• Design and create HMI interfaces programming (PanelView, C-more).
• Design and debug control panels to industrial standards (NFPA 79, UL 508).
• Perform onsite troubleshooting, and system optimization, including mentoring technicians code troubleshooting.
• Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
• Experience with ISO 9001 procedures is preferred.
• Understand customers’ specifications, electrical schematics, and programming requirements.
• Ability to prioritize each project timeline and teamwork with other departments.
• Travel with less than 10%.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively train others.
• Ability to work independently and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with computer-assisted design (CAD) software, RA Studio 5000, Factory Talk View Studio.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PPT, OneNote, Outlook 365, and MS Teams).
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• At least five years of job-related experience required. Prior experience working with furnaces and/or kilns is beneficial.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Standing, climbing, or kneeling is necessary to evaluate large electrical and mechanical structures.
• Must be able to lift 30-40 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to access and inspect all areas of the facility.
