Position Description:
Program, test, implement, and maintain web projects under direct supervision. Handle basic issues and problems. Project development includes coordination with designers, managers, other developers, and IT support personnel. Research, program, document, and modify web projects throughout their life cycle. Learn through training, individual research, and/or additional education.
Texas Tech University is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Web Developer to join our Marketing & Communications team. As a Web Developer, you will analyze, implement, document and support institutional websites. An ideal candidate would have a foundational understanding in software development and desire to learn new technologies. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in a collaborative environment, working closely with experienced developers and other team members.

Major/Essential Functions:

Develop and maintain responsive web interfaces using best practices in design patterns and modern programming languages.

Collaborate with designers and other team members to translate wireframes and mockups onto functioning web interfaces.

Analyze, modify and utilize complex libraries and frameworks to enhance functionality and interactivity of web interfaces.

Ensure accessibility, optimize performance and cross-browser compatibility of web applications.

Stay up to date with web technologies’ trends and developments.

Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS)

Familiarity with server-side programming languages (e.g., PHP).

Familiarity with the development of accessible web.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
