AvaHR is building a nationwide team of independent sales partners — self-employed professionals who represent our hiring software to small and mid-sized businesses. Think of it like a travel agency model: we recruit entrepreneurial people, give them the tools and training, and they build their own book of business earning upfront acquisition bonuses and recurring monthly residuals.
We need someone to own this program end to end. The Sales Partner Program Manager is responsible for recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and providing ongoing support to our growing network of independent sales partners. You'll be the connective tissue between AvaHR and our field team — the person who finds the right people, gets them up to speed, keeps them motivated, and helps them succeed.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You're not managing from a spreadsheet. You're on weekly check-in calls, running training sessions, troubleshooting deals, refining our onboarding process, and constantly improving how we attract and retain top-performing partners.
Responsibilities
- Recruit independent sales partners nationwide through job boards, LinkedIn, referrals, community outreach, and creative sourcing strategies.
- Screen and interview candidates to identify self-motivated, entrepreneurial professionals who are a strong fit for a performance-based, 1099 sales model.
- Design and deliver onboarding and training programs that get new partners producing quickly — covering AvaHR's product, target market (SMBs struggling to hire), sales messaging, demo delivery, and objection handling.
- Conduct weekly one-on-one check-ins with active partners to review pipeline activity, address roadblocks, share best practices, and keep motivation high.
- Track partner performance metrics (demos booked, deals closed, customer retention) and use data to identify coaching opportunities and recognize top performers.
- Build and maintain training resources — playbooks, scripts, FAQ documents, recorded walkthroughs — so partners can self-serve between check-ins.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all partner questions, escalations, and feedback, relaying product and market insights back to the AvaHR team.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to ensure partners have up-to-date collateral, competitive positioning, and product knowledge.
- Continuously improve the recruitment funnel and partner experience based on what's working and what's not — retention matters as much as recruitment.
- Help set and refine commission tier structures, performance benchmarks, and program incentives in partnership with leadership.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in sales management, channel partner management, recruiting, or team leadership in a sales-driven environment.
- Proven track record of recruiting and developing sales talent — especially independent reps, contractors, or distributed teams.
- Comfortable with a 1099 / independent contractor sales model and understands how to motivate people who aren't W-2 employees.
- Strong coaching instincts — you can diagnose why someone isn't closing and help them fix it.
- Excellent communicator who can run engaging training sessions, lead productive one-on-ones, and write clear documentation.
- Organized and process-oriented — you'll be managing dozens of partner relationships simultaneously and need systems to keep it all moving.
- Familiarity with CRM tools, sales enablement platforms, and basic reporting/analytics.
- Self-starter who thrives in a startup environment where you're building the playbook, not just following one.
- Bonus: experience in HR tech, SaaS sales, or SMB-focused products.
