The offices of Kjar, McKenna and Stockalper, LLP are currently seeking Associate Attorneys -2-5 years’ experience with medical malpractice, public entities and or civil litigation experience.

Kjar, McKenna & Stockalper, seeks assiduous and detail-oriented Associates to join our thriving El Segundo office , on practice on our medical malpractice, legal malpractice, general liability, product liability, public entity defense and municipal liability focused teams.

Qualifications

Excellent interpersonal skills, oral advocacy, writing skills, and motivation, are a must. Experience in insurance defense litigation and general familiarity with carrier billing and reporting guidelines is preferred.

• JD from an ABA school required.
• Admitted to practice law in the State of California - no exceptions.
• 2-5 years of civil defense litigation experience preferred.
• Strong oral and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Team player with great attitude and willingness to learn is essential.

Responsibilities

• Independently work with a senior attorney on team to manage caseload.
• Conduct legal research using resources such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
• Regularly handle and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and briefs.
• Conduct legal research, handle discovery and analyze medical and employment records.
• Frequently handle court appearances, depositions and meetings.
• Communicate with clients and provide status reports.
