Job Description :
Byte Systems is seeking a Lead Cloud Engineer to work with government and industry customers to develop a multi-cloud solution.
The engineer will provide technical leadership on an agile development team of software engineers, cloud architects, and cybersecurity professionals to design and orchestrate secure cloud solutions for customers.

Responsibilities include :
Implements and designs server, network, and software configurations for a cloud computing infrastructure and applications with a focus on DevOps principles
Monitors the performance of systems
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of cloud technology, including Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
Perform mostly telework (75%) with certain onsite activities in secure facilities (25%) as needed
Here's what you need :
12+ years of technology experience and a Bachelor's degree
Experience with Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform
5+ years of experience supporting the Cloud environments to include, delivering, securing and managing container-based applications and supporting the Cloud
10+ years of experience in software development to include :
o Python, commercial or on-prem cloud, and git experience
o Experience with DevOps (configuration management, application deployment, security)
o Strong debugging skills (grepping logs, stack traces, tracking down permissions issues, etc&)
5+ years of Systems administration and automation experience with Windows and Linux to include PowerShell and / or Bash Scripting
2+ years of experience leading software engineering projects to include mentorship, development, and management of the team
Experience working in a serverless environment
Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting infrastructure as code (CloudFormation / Terraform / Ansible)
Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI / CD pipelines (Jenkins)
Experience with the Atlassian tools in agile environments
Experience working with containers (Docker / Podman) and their orchestration tools (docker compose / Swarm / Kubernetes)
Bonus points if you have :
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate / Professional
AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate / Professional
Security Clearance :
An active TS / SCI FSP
Remote 75%, 25% onsite (Reston, VA)
MUST be a US Citizen with a U.S. Government clearance - Intel with Polygraph
