The Reference Librarian is a valuable member of the Halle Library working to support the academic and research needs of the Endicott College community.
This is a professional faculty position that teaches information literacy classes, instructs the community to access and evaluate information, provides reference support and interlibrary loan services.
This position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Endicott College Faculty Association (ECFA) and Endicott College.
ECFA is a faculty union organized under the NEA.
Job Responsibilities include (but not limited to) :
Providing orientation to and instruction in the use of the library.
Teaching sessions on the use of print and non-print resources to support undergraduate and graduate research.
Providing one-on-one and group bibliographic instruction.
Assisting Endicott students, faculty and administrators with research.
Providing Interlibrary Loan services for the Endicott community and the NOBLE network of libraries.
Assisting Library Director in collection development.
Creating new print and electronic tools to enhance access to information.
Assisting in the organization and operation of all library functions.
Performing other duties as required and as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Endicott College Faculty Association (ECFA) and Endicott College.
Job Requirements / Qualifications :
Master of Library Science(MLS) Degree from an ALA-accredited institution
College-level Information Literacy teaching experience
Reference services proficiency in an academic library environment
Evidence of professional background and / or ongoing scholarly activities
Desire to work in a student centered, teaching oriented institution
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
