Overview

Kimley-Horn's is seeking a Mechanical Engineer-In-Training with 2+ years of experience to join the Warrenville, IL office!

Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
  • Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
  • Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform general mechanical engineering tasks supporting various project managers as required.
  • Support our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing team specifically working on large scale HVAC design.
  • Project type will vary but may include Airports, Facilities, Universities, and more.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in a similar mechnical engineering role
  • An ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Mechanical Engineering
  • EIT / EI certification or have the ability to obtain certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems for our clients
  • Positive attitude and an impressive work ethic
  • Clear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines
  • Attention to details and ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Passion and demonstrated drive to achieve goals
  • Exposure to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, and / or SolidWorks
