Entry-Level Civil Engineer

S&ME is seeking a recent graduate to join our Civil team in Charlotte, North Carolina as an Entry-Level Civil Engineer and help us provide engineering solutions to our clients.

What You Will Do:

As an Entry-Level Civil Engineer , you will be instrumental in designing and developing projects for Energy, Industrial, and Government clients. These projects include natural gas pipelines, electrical distribution and transmission systems, renewable energy facilities, landfills, mining operations, dams, water resources, and stream restoration. Under the mentorship of Professional Engineers, you will participate in conceptual design, engineering analysis, detailed calculations, and cost estimation.

• Create drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports.
• Perform site inspections.
• Support grading plans and stormwater management efforts.
• Assist in the design of utility systems and manage permitting processes.
• Collaborate effectively with clients to ensure projects are innovative and efficient.

What You Bring:

• You have a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field
• 0-2 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design projects
• The aspiration to take the Professional Engineer ( exam within the next 4-5 years.
• You have strong prioritization skills and well-organized
• You possess excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• You are familiar with AutoCAD, Civil3D, and stormwater/utility modeling software, a plus.

Are You Willing and Able to:

Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provide Personal Protective Equipment such as:

• Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Traveling out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary
• Working outside of normal business hours when necessary
