Job descriptionDevelop a growth plan for assigned key accounts that identifies the programs we are targeting Exceed annual sales targets via traditional and nontraditional sales methods Develop and organize new business development initiatives, improve market share, implement pricing strategies, control expenses, and deliver technical services. Develop strong working relationships with clients, prospects, suppliers, and internal teams to advance strategic sales growth plans. Act as a liaison with Rock West teams, providing feedback about customer needs Provide leadership to ensure all new innovations / intellectual property is protected Manage customer qualification process; managing transition in sales process from project conception, technical validation, mass production. Rock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial and government customers. We provide cradle-to-grave services for primary and secondary composite structures. This position is located in our HQ San Diego, CA office and reports to the SVP of Program Management.
Position Summary :
The Business Development Director is responsible for driving new business in a variety of industries including custom products (custom molded shapes), stock products (tubes, etc), and distribution products (prepregs, fabrics, resins). The focus of this position is custom composite products for DoD and Space clients.
Essential Functions :
- Identify and engage key clients in a variety of industries; Aerospace, Defense, Sports, Maritime, Oil / Energy, etc.
Emphasis will be on identifying DoD opportunities

Compensation :
The pay range for this position falls within $140,000-$165,000 annually. The final compensation will be determined based on experience, skillset, and other factors permitted by law.
