Technical Programming Specialist

The Technical Programming Specialist is a hybrid role responsible for ensuring the technical readiness of programming content for broadcast and digital platforms, while also coordinating multi-departmental content initiatives with internal teams and external partners. This position ensures content meets RMPBS quality standards and supports RMPBS's mission to reflect diverse local voices through thoughtful project oversight, cross-departmental coordination, and technical processing.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Technical Programming Responsibilities :
- Conduct technical quality control (QC) of acquired, internal, and independently sourced content-including verifying audio / video levels, captioning, formatting, and conformance to RMPBS, NETA, or APT specifications.
- Perform basic video editing for content length, compliance, and promotional needs, including inserting station graphics (e.g., bugs, lower thirds, QR codes).
- Process and prepare program and promo files for broadcast and RMPBS+ streaming platforms.
- Track and process promotional images for use on streaming and digital platforms.
- Enter program metadata and assets into Media Manager and Curate , ensuring all descriptions, visuals, and files are complete and appear correctly on the RMPBS+ app and website.
- Work with broadcast and digital teams to troubleshoot display or metadata issues across platforms and that programming priorities are highlighted appropriately.
- Monitor and update entries in the Monday IP Tracker , ensuring accuracy across ProTrack, Media Manager, and other systems.
- Input program data into Myers ProTrack , following programming metadata from Monday.com and coordinating with programming staff.
- Ensure that all necessary program details (may include : titles, series, episodes, descriptions, rights, program segment timings, media IDs, media attachments, versions, etc.) are correct and present in ProTrack.
- Create / update technical specifications information for broadcast and streaming to share with outside producers.
- Responsible for creating / updating SOPs for these processes.
