Job description

Penmac Staffing is hiring a Control Room Operator for a full-time, 2nd shift opportunity in a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for operating automated control systems and production equipment used in receiving ingredients, batching feed, pelleting, flaking, cracking, and preparing products for packaging. Candidates who have manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are encouraged to apply. Pay: $24.00/hour Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • Overtime may be required as needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to follow production schedules, specifications, and quality standards
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, twist, push, pull, and perform physical work throughout the shift
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces when required
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment including safety shoes, hearing protection, hard hats, safety glasses, face masks, and gloves
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, noisy, and wet environments
  • Ability to work around manufacturing-related allergens
  • Strong work ethic, excellent attendance, and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Willingness to submit to pre-employment screening requirements

Responsibilities

  • Operate WEM computerized control systems and related equipment used in ingredient receiving, batching, mixing, pelleting, cracking, flaking, and product routing processes
  • Follow production schedules to accurately batch and mix products according to established formulations and quality standards
  • Add hand-dump ingredients as required during the manufacturing process
  • Operate cracking and flaking equipment based on customer demand and inventory requirements
  • Safely operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other production equipment
  • Follow all plant safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements
  • Support quality control efforts by verifying weights, labels, sequencing, and cleanout procedures
  • Monitor production runs to meet productivity goals while minimizing downtime
  • Communicate ingredient shortages, equipment issues, and quality concerns to leadership
  • Perform housekeeping duties and maintain a clean work area
  • Assist with training and mentoring team members after becoming qualified
  • Cross-train in other production areas as needed
  • Attend required training sessions and perform other duties assigned by plant leadership
