The team consists of 4 team members to support business applications for Axcelus Insurance. There is a mix of skill sets – developers, database admins, and business analysts. The work is a variety of support and development of existing applications as well as new development. The team works closely with associates in the larger US GIDS technology team and the infrastructure team on their projects.

What You Will Get to Do
- The Senior Application Developer acts as the principal designer for major applications utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools and existing designs.
- Has responsibility for technical delivery of complex development activities for a given assignment.
- Also acts as the lead technical resource responsible for directing the overall technical progress of projects or application initiatives.
- In this capacity, they will plan and administer the operational and administrative activities of a Development Programming unit or team.
What You Will Bring
- 5–8+ years of professional software development experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with .NET / .NET Core
- Experience working on enterprise applications
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC / Web API
- Solid understanding of OOP and design patterns
- Experience designing scalable, secure, and high-performance systems
- Experience with logging, monitoring, and performance optimization
- Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server performance tuning and indexing
- Frontend exposure: JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Experience working in AWS or other cloud environments
- Experience with Git, code reviews, deployment pipelines, and branching strategies
- Understanding of unit testing, integration testing, and TDD
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Nice to have
- DevOps experience
- VBA coding experience
- Life Insurance Domain knowledge
