In addition, they have been named as a certified integrator by many vendors, as they do not focus on just one platform, but their engineers will work with the customer to choose the best platform for each application. With over 700 employees nationwide, they have become one of the largest and most established firms in the United States.

We are seeking a Controls Engineer in Denver, CO, to support the design, implementation, and project management of large-scale automation projects, primarily in the oil & gas industry, with additional exposure to life sciences and building automation. This role requires strong experience with Rockwell control systems (preferably PlantPAx), safety instrumented systems, and a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget while collaborating across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Rockwell-based control systems for capital projects
  • Lead system architecture, control strategies, and class-based design for scalability
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources
  • Develop electrical designs (power distribution, panels, grounding) and specify instrumentation
  • Design industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, OPC UA, etc.) and integrate third-party systems
  • Define computing infrastructure (servers, virtualization, cybersecurity, redundancy)
  • Lead FAT/SAT execution and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Support advanced automation strategies, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
  • Travel up to 50% for commissioning and client support

Qualifications:

  • 5–10 years of experience in automation and control systems (oil & gas preferred)
  • Strong background with Rockwell Automation; experience with DCS/SCADA systems is a plus
  • Expertise in industrial protocols, networking, and system integration
  • Experience with electrical design (MCCs, VFDs, control panels) and server infrastructure
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
