Entry–intermediate generalist who performs routine maintenance, preventive tasks, and basic repairs across major building systems to support clinic, lab, and administrative facilities. Works safely, documents accurately in CMMS, and develops skills toward a specialty.
Day in Life :
Start the day by reviewing CMMS work orders, gathering tools and materials, and traveling to assigned sites. Complete routine PMs, including filter changes, lubrication, lamp / faucet / ceiling tile replacements, and minor patch / paint repairs. Assist higher-level technicians on more complex HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire / life-safety, and building envelope work. Throughout the shift, follow safety procedures, keep work areas clean, and close out work orders with accurate time, parts, and simple technical notes in CMMS.
Essential Duties
General Maintenance & Preventive Tasks (60%)
- Perform routine PMs including filter changes, lubrication, minor inspections, and simple adjustments.
- Complete basic repairs such as ceiling tile replacement, touch-up paint, door / hinge / closer adjustments, and basic fixture swaps (e.g., faucets, outlets / covers, dispensers).
- Care for tools and test equipment; maintain organization and cleanliness of mechanical rooms, shops, and storage areas.
Support to Higher-Level Technicians & Learning (20%)
