Job description

Job Title: Financial Analyst
Location: Durham, NC

Payrate: $44/hour/W2
Shift/Schedule: Monday Friday | 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Duration: 13 Weeks (+extension)

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is preferred but not required.

Experience

  • 4 5 years of experience in Financial Management, Financial Analysis, Cost Accounting, or a related finance field.
  • Experience with budget management, expense reconciliation, and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, cost analysis, and budget variance analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and advanced formulas.
  • Experience working with multiple cost centers and financial data management.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidates with less than 10 years of experience are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the financial integration of approximately 450 cost centers and 200+ programs across 18 departments.
  • Prepare, monitor, and analyze operational and capital budgets.
  • Review and reconcile financial transactions, expenses, and budget variances.
  • Prepare financial statements, statistical reports, cost analyses, and other financial reports.
  • Monitor budget expenditures and provide recommendations on financial trends and variances.
  • Coordinate the preparation and distribution of financial reports for senior management.
  • Collaborate with financial managers, department leaders, and administrative staff to resolve financial issues.
  • Support cost allocation processes and financial planning initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity.
  • Utilize advanced Excel functions to analyze and present financial data.
  • Assist with ad hoc financial analyses, reporting, and special finance projects.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and procedures.
  • Perform other finance and accounting duties as assigned.
