DIRECTOR FINANCE - CONTROLLER
Awesome opportunity for a Director of Finance for my growing nonprofit client in the DC area to provide strategic financial and organizational leadership.
DIRECT HIRE HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE IN OFFICE AND REMOTE EXCELLENT CULTURE SALARY $150K MAX EXCELLENT BENEFITS RESPONSIBILITIES* : * Recommend and implement systems, policies, procedures, and controls designed to account accurately for grantors and funding streams* Manage monthly financial close process and create monthly reports as well as quarterly and year end close* Analyze organizational profit and loss statements;
identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.* Work closely with the Development Team to develop grant budgets and provide timely and accurate financial reports to funders and grantees as required.
- Lead efforts to increase financial literacy across the organization to promote effective budget management and develop internal leadership.
- Lead annual audit process : prepare materials for the audit and work directly with the auditor throughout the process and manage RFP, bid, and selection process.
- Support the annual budgeting and planning process and assist with the creation and review of all financial plans and budgets.
- Increase staff’s level of financial understanding through coaching, training, and collaborative efforts.* Ensure continual review of internal and strategic controls, communications, risk assessments and maintenance of documentation.
- Supervise the finance team members* Develop, lead, and implement key organizational priorities.* Ensure effective collaboration between the organization’s teams.
- QUALIFICATIONS* : * Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance, Masters degree a plus
- 10+ years demonstrated experience in Accounting / Finance along with management experience
