Reports To : Principal / Head Secretary
PURPOSE : The High School Clerk is responsible for performing a variety of clerical tasks under the direction of the Head Secretary and School Principal.
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS :
Education :
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or Three years related experience and / or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience :
- 1 year of clerical experience strongly preferred.
- Broad range of advanced executive secretary, clerical, accounting, or technical skills. Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
- Experience with a variety of data bases and computer software applications such as using advanced word processing or desktop publishing programs, producing query reports, using spreadsheets, etc
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES :
- The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff, students, parents, and the public.
- Ability to solve practical problems.
- Advanced knowledge of; database software; Microsoft Office and Google.
- Problem solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to attend to details.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent computer skills, strong communication skills both verbal and written.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assist with answering phones
- Translate spoken.
- Assist with student tardiness and enter information in Skyward.
- Run attendance reports and correspond with parents as needed.
- Use effective written and oral communication skills to convey essential information to students, staff, administrators, parents, and a variety of other community patrons.
- Analyze problems and develop suggestions for solutions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT :
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk and hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- The work environment is in an office setting.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
