Position Overview
Responsible for maintaining a positive employee relations culture by responding to employees’ concerns, addressing issues proactively and advising management regarding proper company practices.
Responsible for ensuring that employee policy, programs, and federal and state laws are consistently applied across all regions.
Position requires the exercise of sound judgment, confidentiality, and good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to make routine and occasionally exceptional decisions regarding operations in the Human Resources Department.
Responsibilities :
This role requires 5 days onsite in Maumee with great flexibility on telework and possibility of Hybrid schedule in the future
Advise supervisors and managers on identifying, evaluating, and resolving employee performance issues. Guide managers and supervisors on administering progressive discipline.
Ensure consistent treatment of employees and provide coaching to managers on the corrective action process. Review and edit Employee Counseling Notices prior to delivery to employees.
Conduct prompt and thorough investigations of employee complaints and make recommendations on appropriate resolutions in accordance with company policy, practices, and procedures.
Will work with managers and employees to resolve diverse employee relations issues such as harassment, discrimination, etc.
Consistently document investigation and results.
- Advise employees and management on the interpretation of personnel policies, programs, and procedures. Communicate and ensure understanding by managers and employees of relevant laws and regulations and answer non-standard questions by managers and employees as needed.
- Provide advice, consultation, and guidance to support a positive employee relations environment.
- Review and assist managers with the content of performance evaluations, including coaching managers in delivering effective feedback to successfully complete performance evaluations.
Ensure probationary and annual performance evaluations are completed in a timely manner.
- Assist in, manager onboarding training relating to all areas of Human Resources.
- Conduct ongoing employee surveys, including engagement surveys, stay interviews and exit interviews. Run monthly and quarterly reports.
Analyze information to identify recurring themes and areas to address.
- Completes unemployment claims processing and coordinates information processing with the various States where the company does business.
- Assist with other Human Resources and Talent Acquisition initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Combination of education and experience equal to bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
- PHR certification designation or the ability to attain such professional status within one year of hire.
- 2-4 years of progressively responsible experience in the Human Resources field.
- Demonstrated skills in researching and / or resolving employee relation situations, including investigation techniques.
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and government compliance requirements.
- Strong presentation skills and facilitation experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with desktop computers, a working knowledge of the MS Office Suite of software, and the ability to use a broad range of job-related software including presentations applications.
