Job description
High Point University is currently seeking a full-time Employer Relations & Events/Marketing Coordinator in the Office of Career and Professional Development (CPD). This role is responsible for leading the strategic marketing efforts of the office while coordinating key employer engagement events such as university wide career fairs, focus fairs, and employer visits. The Employer Relations & Events/Marketing Coordinator serves as a creative leader in developing and implementing cohesive branding and content strategies across digital and campus platforms to increase awareness of CPD initiatives and student engagement. This position also supervises student marketing assistants and collaborates closely with internal partners and employer stakeholders to elevate the visibility and impact of career development programming and services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required with relevant experience, preferably in a higher education setting.

Experience and Training

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to varied audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams and departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email marketing tools (e.g., MailChimp or Constant Contact), and social media scheduling platforms.
  • Familiarity with visual branding and an understanding of best practices in digital marketing.
  • A proactive, innovative mindset with a passion for student development and employer engagement

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Leads the strategic marketing efforts of the Office of Career & Professional Development (CPD), developing and executing comprehensive content plans across digital platforms—including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, email newsletters, and the CPD website—to enhance visibility and student engagement.
  • Supervises and mentors a team of student marketing assistants, delegating responsibilities in content creation, analytics, and campaign execution to ensure brand consistency and skill development.
  • Creates, refines, and manages marketing campaigns in alignment with CPD initiatives, including branded templates, multi-channel outreach plans, and collaborative promotions with academic and campus partners.
  • Plans, promotes, and executes high-impact events such as career fairs, focus fairs, employer visits, and industry panels, ensuring these initiatives meet student needs and employer goals.
  • Designs and distributes regular newsletters to faculty, staff, and students that promote upcoming events, curated job/internship opportunities, and career development resources.
  • Strengthens CPD’s digital presence through analytics-driven social media strategies, resulting in consistent follower growth, increased content interactions, and measurable gains in website taps.
  • Maintains and enhances partnerships with employers, internal departments, and external vendors, including managing the vetting process for High Point Market participants and facilitating smooth onboarding and marketing of their opportunities.
  • Collaborates closely with the Employer Relations team to provide promotional support for outreach efforts, helping increase student-employer interactions across on-campus and virtual events.
  • Supports and refines systems and tools such as Handshake, VMock, and Big Interview to ensure student and employer access is timely and effective.
  • Represents the university at admissions events, family weekends, and other key moments to promote CPD services and employer partnerships to prospective and current stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned, in support of elevating the CPD brand and optimizing student career readiness.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Will report to Director of Corporate Relations. Some evening and weekend hours will be required for special events.
