Job description

Technical Business Analyst Consultant

Digital Intelligence Systems (DISYS) has an exciting, growth opportunity in the Healthcare IT Solutions domain as a Technical Business Analyst for a Consultant who currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area or who can relocate before commencement for this multi-year engagement.

Use your software professional experience and sharp analytical skills to help own and build the algorithm layer of a clinical tracking system. Along the way, learn the fascinating domain of healthcare information systems, clinical informatics and actively be part of the full spectrum of the software application development life cycle - from inception to deployment and finally support.

This is not a traditional business analyst role, but a combination of systems and functional analyst with hands-on experience in Pseudocode (Domain Specific Language) encoding of clinical rules.

Responsibilities:

  • Product requirements owner and key player to collaborate with cross functional stakeholders, identify feature gaps, lead requirement gathering/design and development/management for a web-based clinical application.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC (agile methodologies) from idea inception through scoping, requirements gathering, analysis, design, construction, QA, user acceptance, maintenance support, and change management.
  • Partner with external business teams and internal technology partners to define business processes, deliver systems enhancements, roadmap management for the specific sub-portfolio.
  • Requires a software development mindset to be able to do hands-on pseudo coding in a DSL (domain specific language) and help test the code using an in-house testing tool.
  • Produces professional quality project artifacts including but not limited to story/workflow diagrams user stories, issue logs, test cases and other documents as needed.
  • Responsible in leading and maintain project delivery, including milestones and report progress toward delivery goals throughout project.
  • Assist in application support and management of defects, enhancements and change requests.
  • Experience leading multiple projects or programs involving multiple stakeholders and leaderships with competing priorities in complex environments. Ability to thrive in a complex environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a thought leader.

Prerequisites:

  • 7 to 8 years of work experience including experience managing the full implementation lifecycle and delivery of systems solutions (analyze, design, build, test, support).
  • Bachelors degree in technical field required, Masters degree preferred.
  • Business Analysis, Agile Certifications a plus.
  • Experience in data extraction using SQL required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical individuals.
  • Ability to manage, drive, prioritize, perform and deliver multiple tasks simultaneously and with quality.
