Senior Accounts Payable (AP) Processor
Location: Houston, TX
Job Type: Contract
Work Location: Hybrid
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Shift: Day | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Hours: 45 Hours/Week
Pay Rate: $17–$20/hr
Responsibilities
Process a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently.
Enter invoice and account information into accounting systems.
Review invoices and resolve discrepancies.
Verify merchandise, services, and charges with vendors or internal departments.
Research credits, past-due invoices, vendor statements, and payment issues.
Respond to vendor inquiries and follow up on outstanding issues.
Reconcile monthly vendor statements.
Prepare and audit checks for payment.
Process voids, cancellations, and payment reissues.
Audit and process employee expense reports.
Maintain accurate electronic records and supporting documentation.
Provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Follow accounting and purchasing policies and procedures.
Manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of Accounts Payable, Finance, or Accounting experience.
High School Diploma or GED required.
College education preferred.
Experience with invoice processing, verification, and data entry.
Knowledge of basic Accounts Payable principles.
Experience with vendor statement reconciliation.
Strong problem-solving and discrepancy-resolution skills.
Intermediate computer skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
Ability to use 10-key by touch.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
Candidate must reside in or be submitted from GA, LA, OK, TN, or TX.

ERP system experience.

General accounting knowledge.
