As MSG continues to grow, we're seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our Finance team. Reporting directly to the Controller this influential role will help guide the company's daily & monthly accounting operations to support long-term business growth.
We're looking for a proactive accounting leader who combines strong technical expertise with a collaborative mindset. The successful candidate will work across departments, provide valuable financial insight, and help ensure the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly close process, including account reconciliations, trial balance reviews, and preparation of financial statements for management and ownership review.
- Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring accurate account coding, journal entries, and period-end adjustments.
- Manage accounts receivable functions by monitoring invoicing accuracy, reviewing aging reports, and identifying collection issues.
- Coordinate payroll administration with the external payroll processor, ensuring accurate timesheet reporting and proper labor cost allocation to projects.
- Support internal and external audit activities, including FAR compliance requirements, preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and audit documentation.
- Assist with cash flow forecasting by monitoring billings, collections, and overall cash position in collaboration with accounting leadership.
- Partner closely with the Controller to support day-to-day accounting operations and financial management activities.
- Manage accounting processes across multiple legal entities and project-based business segments.
- Ensure accurate project costing and cost allocations to support financial reporting and project profitability analysis.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (CPA & MBA preferred)
- 7-15 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years as an Accounting Manager
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- AEC industry background strongly preferred
- Deltek software experience required (VantagePoint, Vision, Costpoint, and/or Ajera)
- Strong knowledge of project accounting, WIP, and ASC 606 & 842
- Overhead Rate Audit & FAR Part 31 experience

The base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting. This range reflects the company’s good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
