Responsibilities
Accurately abstract and code trauma patient data from medical records, including AIS, ISS, and ICD-10 coding.
Abstract all trauma cases (ICU, complex cases, and trauma deaths) per Title 22, ACS Committee on Trauma, and facility standards. Must maintain ≥95% accuracy.
Ensure timely abstraction : within 60 days of discharge for 80% of cases.
Participate in performance improvement activities as needed.
Assist with exporting registry data for NTDB, State of California, research studies, EMS agency reports, ACS compliance, and internal reporting needs.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Trauma Registrar at a Level I or II Trauma Center
Completion of a Trauma Registry Course
CSTR (Certified Specialist in Trauma)
ICD-10 Certification
3 years Experience with Epic and DI-V5
