Job description

Recruiting Consultant

Join Arctic Slope Regional Corporation (ASRC), Alaska's largest locally-owned company representing over 13,000 Iupiaq shareholders and employing over 16,000 people worldwide. Guided by our Iupiat values, we're not just building careers - we're building a legacy. As we enter our next era of growth, we're seeking talented individuals who want to be part of something meaningful while advancing their own professional journey.

The Recruiting Consultant provides day-to-day recruiting services under a shared services model to the corporate team and various operating lines, working with minimal supervision and maintaining confidentiality. As a member of the recruiting team, the Recruiting Consultant sources top talent, builds a talent pipeline, and helps create attraction strategies, typically managing a caseload of 3050 open requisitions at a time. Duties include conducting preliminary screening of applicants, establishing and maintaining recruitment files and data systems, compiling reports, researching passive and direct recruitment leads, contacting candidates, coordinating interviews, and communicating regularly with hiring managers and the recruiting, compliance and Core HR teams. The role requires up to 25% travel within Alaska for hiring, recruiting, and community events.

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Coordinates day-to-day recruiting activities under the shared services model; opens, manages, and closes all assigned requisitions, typically maintaining a caseload of 3050 open requisitions at a time.
  2. Partners with HR, Operations, External Affairs, and other departments to market employment opportunities and network for candidates.
  3. Assists with recruiting materials, including flyers, social media posts, and brochures that look professional and reflect current recruiting trends.
  4. Provides full-cycle recruiting services using iCIMS and other approved tools to source top talent, track candidates through the hiring process, prepare recruiting reports, and track assigned metrics.
  5. Communicates the status of openings with hiring managers and the HR team on a scheduled basis, with strong customer service and transparent communication.
  6. Acts as a subject matter expert advisor to hiring managers on recruitment strategies, talent market trends, candidate assessment, and best practices throughout the hiring lifecycle.
  7. Educates leaders on recruiting and onboarding processes and behavioral/competency-based interview questions, facilitates candidate evaluations, and partners with Operations for a seamless transition from selection through onboarding.
  8. Partners with hiring managers, HR, and cross-functional teams to coordinate onboarding activities, ensuring new hires have the resources, access, and support for a successful first day and Day 1 readiness.
  9. Establishes, maintains, and leverages partnerships with vocational/tech schools, community partners, colleges, select high schools, and other organizations.
  10. Develops and maintains a robust talent pipeline by building long-term relationships with active job seekers, passive candidates, industry professionals, and referral networks.
  11. Engages and nurtures talent communities to support current and future hiring needs. With guidance from the Recruiting Manager, plans and attends targeted recruitment events, job fairs, and seminars, and follows up on leads. May require travel, including to remote sites.
  12. Completes additional assignments, participates in group projects, and attends meetings as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill & Abilities

  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and job openings and drive tasks to closure.
  • Ability to influence without authority - effectively coordinating and holding accountable stakeholders across IT, Procurement, HR, and hiring teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Customer service orientation with the ability to represent the ASRC brand positively at every candidate and new hire touchpoint.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Teams, for tracking, communication, and reporting.
  • Commitment to delivering an exceptional employee experience.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and sensitivity to Iupiat culture and remote work environments, preferred.

Competency Requirements

ASRC values the competencies that enable individual and organizational success. The Company maintains an enterprise competency framework that outlines core and role-specific expectations across levels. Competency requirements and definitions are reviewed periodically and may evolve to reflect business needs. Employees are expected to demonstrate the competencies applicable to their role as maintained by Human Resources and their business unit.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of full-cycle recruiting experience; shared services or multi-entity environment preferred.
  • Experience with an applicant tracking system required; iCIMS experience preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of database, spreadsheet, and word processing software, plus recruiting/marketing design tools (MS Office, Canva, Adobe Acrobat) or willingness and ability to become proficient immediately upon hire.
  • Strong technical knowledge of social media and online recruiting platforms, or willingness and ability to become proficient immediately upon hire.
  • Excellent organizational and professional communication skills, with a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Solution-oriented; able to work collaboratively and independently to assess situations and propose solutions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or college coursework preferred.
