Job descriptionHigh school diploma or equivalent 5+ years of experience running manual lathes and milling machines. Proficiency in using micrometers and calipers accurately. Experience repairing components for rotating machinery. Submerged arc welding and spray welding for journal repair Experience with electrical controls wiring. Basic knowledge of Windows, Word, and Excel Basic reading, writing, and some advanced arithmetic skills required. Must be mechanically inclined and have an aptitude for mechanical measurement. Collaborative work environment. Emphasis on communication. Exposure to hazardous equipment. Required use of proper safety equipment (e.g., steel-toed boots, safety glasses) and adherence to safety procedures. Exposure to loud noises. Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Coachable and receptive to firsthand training from experienced team members. Maintain a cheerful outlook and professional, courteous relationships with co-workers. Consistent attendance record with a willingness to work overtime as needed. Professional appearance and ability to represent the company positively in interactions with customers and vendors. We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist for a wide range of repair applications, as well as precision mechanical assembly and alignment work.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operation of manual lathes and milling machines for a wide range of repair applications
- Precision mechanical assembly and alignment work.
- Using micrometers and calipers to get mechanical fits.
- Record Measurements for repair documentation.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Ability to use the following tools : electrical assembly tools, multi-meter, test supply, forklift, and lugger.
- Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment and compliance with industry standards.
