Overview
Asurgent Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you'll provide comprehensive psychiatric care to adults engaged in our Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) programs. Our clients are individuals working toward recovery from substance use disorders, many with co-occurring mental health conditions.

Duties
Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including mental status examinations and risk assessments, for clients entering and progressing through our levels of care.
Develop and update individualized treatment plans that integrate psychopharmacology, behavioral interventions, and coordination with therapy and case management.
Manage psychiatric medication, including prescribing, monitoring, and adjusting based on client response and treatment goals.
Provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders, including induction, maintenance, and monitoring where clinically appropriate.
Assess and treat co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions using an integrated approach.
Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation during acute psychiatric or behavioral episodes.
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the Sunwave EHR, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality requirements.
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings to review client progress and adjust treatment strategies.
Educate clients about their conditions and treatment options to support engagement, adherence, and long-term recovery.
Support discharge planning, step-down transitions between levels of care.
Qualifications & Experience
Active, unencumbered Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the State of Ohio with Psychiatric-Mental Health certification (PMHNP-BC or equivalent).
Active DEA registration with authority to prescribe psychotropic and controlled medications.
Clinical experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or a related setting strongly preferred; experience with PHP/IOP or residential/recovery populations is a plus.
Demonstrated expertise in psychiatric assessment, medication management, and crisis intervention.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
Working knowledge of relevant regulations, including HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and Ohio behavioral health standards.
Strong understanding of mental health conditions across diverse populations, including clients with complex comorbidities and co-occurring substance use disorders.
Experience with MAT and telehealth platforms is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills for effective multidisciplinary collaboration and client education.
Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism, empathy, and sound clinical judgment.
