The mission of DASA Assessment is to champion data-informed decision making in the Division of Academic and Student Affairs. Staff provide leadership through education, support, and facilitation of assessment processes for DASA units. DASA Assessment assists faculty and staff as they collect and review data in order to enhance student learning and support student success throughout the DASA program review process, DASA outcomes assessment, and Student Success Assessment.

Eligibility and Employer Sponsored Plans can be found within each of the links offered.Essential Job Duties:The Data Analyst will be charged with assisting the Director in carrying out the mission of DASA Assessment. The position is in a highly productive environment and the person in the role will need to have very strong problem solving skills and be flexible, independent, detail-oriented and willing to produce work at a high volume. A strong work ethic is required.
The Data Analyst will be responsible for the following:
- Conducting descriptive and inferential statistical analyses, including regression, forecasting, and modeling for DASA
- Conducting data analysis on participation data, rubric data, survey data, and student retention and graduation data
- Analyzing factors that influence DASA programs and units impact on the student experience
- Analyzing the effectiveness of DASA practices to promote the success of all students
- Ensuring the use of best practices within student success/higher education in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to support DASA units
- Supervising graduate student staff on job duties related to data analysis and reporting to support DASA units
- Consulting on projects with DASA faculty, staff, and administrators toward sound assessment methodologies and data collection
- Using student information systems to run queries, extract, and clean data for DASA
- Oversee the use of the predictive modeling for student success
- Providing ad hoc data analysis (participation, graduation, retention rates, etc.) for DASA
- Administering division surveys in Qualtrics
- Providing Qualtrics support to the faculty and staff of DASA
- Assessing and ensuring data integrity and validation
- Assisting with workshops and presentations for DASA
- Developing and delivering reports/presentations to various audiences
Other Responsibilities:- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
- At least two years of progressively responsible technical research or statistical experience, including hands-on use of statistical software such as SPSS, Stata, R, or equivalent for data analysis and regression modeling.
Other Required Qualifications:- Skill in qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Demonstrated ability to conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analyses, including regression, forecasting, and modeling.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with information systems, data warehouses, and related business intelligence tools.
- Experience applying predictive modeling or machine learning methods in a higher education context.
- Demonstrated technical expertise developing queries and reports from enterprise information systems and data warehouses.
- Ability to communicate clearly to a variety of constituents in both oral and written formats
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to accomplish goals
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and work efficiently under pressure and changing priorities
