Job description

Demand Planner

The Demand Planner Food is responsible for developing and maintaining a consensus-based rolling 36-month demand forecast for Sealed Air's North America Food business. Working as a key member of the Demand Planning team, this role partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, and Supply Chain to support the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, improve forecast accuracy, and enable informed business decisions. The Demand Planner coordinates the monthly Pre-Demand process, applies statistical forecasting techniques, monitors demand performance, and continuously improves planning tools and processes to support operational excellence.

Develop, maintain, and continuously improve a rolling 36-month demand forecast across profit centers, product hierarchies, and SKU levels. Partner with Sales, Product Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and customers to align demand assumptions using market trends, promotional activity, and customer insights. Coordinate the monthly Pre-Demand Review process by facilitating cross-functional meetings, gathering business inputs, and aligning forecast updates. Monitor forecast accuracy, forecast bias, and other demand planning KPIs while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Maintain weekly forecast versus actual sales reporting to identify demand trends and support short-term planning decisions. Develop demand models to support promotional activities, new product introductions, portfolio changes, and product lifecycle transitions. Support scenario planning and "what-if" analyses using pricing, market trends, and business assumptions to evaluate potential demand impacts. Partner with Supply Chain, Sales, and Marketing during supply-constrained situations to evaluate demand scenarios and support inventory and customer service decisions. Support the implementation and continuous improvement of forecasting tools, demand planning systems, and statistical forecasting capabilities. Communicate forecast assumptions, risks, opportunities, and recommendations to Supply Chain and Finance stakeholders. Continuously identify opportunities to improve demand planning processes, reporting, governance, and forecasting effectiveness.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Analytics, Engineering, or another quantitative or technical field. MBA preferred. Experience in Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, or a related planning function with exposure to supply and demand alignment. Experience working with demand planning, forecasting, or Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes. Experience using demand planning or forecasting software is strongly preferred. Knowledge of statistical forecasting methodologies and forecasting models. Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights. Experience supporting business process improvements, process mapping, or process redesign initiatives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions and organizational levels. Proven ability to influence stakeholders and build strong cross-functional relationships in a matrix environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
