Are you ready to lead a transformative journey in data strategy? We are seeking a Vice President, Data Strategy to build and lead the Institute's inaugural centralized data strategy team, driving modernization efforts that unlock growth opportunities and fulfill research data requirements across all business units. This pivotal senior leadership role will be responsible for defining and executing the organization's comprehensive data strategy. The leader will develop a robust governance framework, oversee strategic investments in data capabilities, and provide comprehensive program management for key data initiatives. This role entails accountability for the organization's research data assets and necessitates close collaboration with business, technical, and strategic leaders, as well as Global Technology Services, to enhance data management and governance practices. Additionally, the leader will spearhead talent development initiatives aimed at cultivating the organization's capacity to create and maintain valuable data assets.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership : Lead the continuous evolution and execution of the institute's data strategy, fostering data innovation and governance in partnership with business unit and General & Administrative (G&A) leadership.
- Growth Opportunity Identification : Collaborate with business unit leaders to uncover new growth opportunities and redesign organizational and technical processes that enhance the institute's capability to capitalize on these opportunities.
- Data Governance : Build and maintain organizational trust in data assets by establishing and implementing governance frameworks for data management and analytical algorithms.
- Alignment with Scientific Goals : Provide strategic and technical leadership at the nexus of technology and scientific research, ensuring alignment of the data strategy with the institute's scientific objectives.
- Value Maximization : Establish a clear vision for managing research data as a vital business asset, leveraging advanced data and analytics to maximize organizational value.
- Organizational Structure Development : Lead the design and implementation of an organizational structure that supports the ongoing modernization of the data strategy and enhances cross-functional collaboration.
- Framework Advancement : Develop and advance comprehensive frameworks for data delivery models, methodologies, and best practices, ensuring consistency in data and analytics solutions across the organization.
- AI-Driven Insights : Champion the adoption of AI-driven analytics solutions to uncover insights, predict trends, and facilitate data-driven decision-making throughout the institute.
- Strategic Alliances : Collaborate with Corporate Development to establish and nurture strategic partnerships with third-party data providers, enhancing the organization's data capabilities and market position.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree and 20 years of experience, Master's degree and 16 years of experience, PhD and 12 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Our pay ranges represent national averages and may vary by location as a geographic differential may be applied to some locations within the United States. RTI considers multiple factors when making an offer including, for example : established salary range, internal budget, business needs, and education and years of work experience possessed by the applicant. Further, salary is merely one element to our offer.

Equal Pay Act Minimum / Range : $265,000 - $325,000
