What will your day look like? As an Associate Java Developer, you will:
• Develop and enhance Java-based microservices using Spring Boot within a distributed trading environment.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Quant teams, and senior engineers to deliver execution logic and platform enhancements.
• Support the development of scalable and resilient services that underpin execution and order management platforms.
• Participate in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and improving application reliability and stability.
• Assist with implementing pre-trade checks, validation logic, and operational safeguards to support safe trading requirements.
• Contribute to clean, maintainable, and well-tested code through unit testing, code reviews, and CI/CD best practices.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet performance, risk, and availability standards.
• Gain exposure to financial systems, distributed architectures, and latency-sensitive application development.
You will be a good fit for the Associate Java Developer role if you have:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong proficiency in Core Java (Java 11+), including object-oriented programming, collections, and basic concurrency concepts
• Hands-on experience developing applications with Spring Boot and RESTful APIs
• Experience building or supporting microservices-based applications in distributed environments
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker; Kubernetes exposure is preferred
• Understanding of messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar platforms
• Working knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases
• Experience writing unit and integration tests and contributing to code quality initiatives
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Nice-to-Haves:
• Exposure to Spring Cloud components and cloud-native application development
• Familiarity with trading systems, execution platforms, or order management systems
• Understanding of the trade lifecycle, including order capture, execution, and downstream processing
• Knowledge of market data, order routing, or execution workflows
• Experience working in regulated financial environments with audit, compliance, or operational controls requirements
• Interest in performance optimization and latency-aware development practices
