LOCATION: (HYBRID) DURHAM, NC

ABOUT US

Victra is Verizon’s largest premium retailer in the United States. We thrive on collaboration, innovation, and performance. Our mission is to connect technology to life in a trustworthy, fun, and profitable way. We work closely with Verizon and our brand partners to deliver exceptional products, promotions, and experiences that drive customer engagement and business growth.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Do you want to be part of a culture that drives performance and celebrates success? Are you ready to help lead in the digital space? As a Software Engineer III - Mobile (OS), you will design and develop critical applications that support Victra’s internal teams and external customers. The technology architecture, software solutions, and support provided to our stores directly enable an exceptional Guest experience.

We are looking for an intellectually curious, entrepreneurial professional who is comfortable working outside established boundaries, thrives amid change, and actively contributes to the success of others. You will combine strong technical judgment with clear communication, relationship-building skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across a diverse organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate within dynamic, self-organized Agile teams to design, develop, test, and deliver high-quality software applications using appropriate technology stacks and architectural patterns.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to analyze needs, clarify requirements, and develop new features and enhancements for applications supporting Victra’s enterprise operations.
  • Demonstrate Customer Focus by translating business and user needs into reliable, intuitive solutions that strengthen the Guest and employee experience.
  • Apply Strategic Thinking to evaluate architecture, technology, security, scalability, and maintainability when recommending technical solutions.
  • Design and implement web applications using .NET and React, including RESTful services, APIs, microservices, and Azure technologies.
  • Automate development and deployment activities by building or using CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub.
  • Propose and implement improvements to engineering culture, development processes, tools, technology, and architecture; support Change Management through clear documentation and adoption support.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted technical resource for development colleagues and business partners, strengthening Relationship Building across teams.
  • Provide responsive production and product support, troubleshoot complex issues, and communicate status and resolution clearly to business stakeholders.
  • Deliver Results by balancing feature development, technical quality, operational support, and commitments across assigned work.
  • Support Talent Management by sharing knowledge, mentoring peers, participating in code reviews, and contributing to learning activities such as lunch-and-learns, book clubs, and training sessions.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or an associate degree in programming, is preferred; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
  • Five or more years of experience developing web and/or mobile applications.
  • Demonstrated object-oriented development experience with C#, .NET, .NET Core, SQL, design patterns, and modern software engineering practices.
  • Strong understanding of multi-tier architecture, web-based applications, object-oriented design, and application development lifecycles.
  • In-depth experience with one or more JavaScript libraries or frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, jQuery, or Bootstrap; React experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to create meaningful automated unit tests using frameworks such as xUnit, MSTest, or NUnit.
  • Ability to write and interpret complex SQL queries and understand relational and data warehouse concepts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving environment while managing changing priorities.
  • Experience deploying solutions to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS is a plus.
  • Experience developing cloud-based microservices is a plus.
  • Experience developing iOS and/or Android applications is a plus.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation and container technologies such as Ansible, Docker, or Terraform is a plus.

WHY JOIN US:

  • At Victra, you will join a collaborative, performance-driven culture where innovation is encouraged and success is celebrated. We invest in our people and provide opportunities to learn, grow, and build a meaningful career.
  • Paid training and professional development opportunities
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Verizon product and service discounts
  • Employee referral bonuses
  • Career pathing and advancement opportunities
