This is for 2 - Program Coordinator II - Additional Sentence Auditor positions
and
The Program Coordinator II Additional Sentence Auditor positions are in the Combined Record Section of the Department of Adult Correction Raleigh Wake County.
The Combined Records section is responsible for the development and maintenance of offender records and the calculation of sentences for all offenders who are incarcerated in the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction facilities. The staff at Combined Records obtain information from a variety of sources including the courts the Post-Release Supervision / Parole Commission the North Carolina Department of Justice the Attorney Generals Office and federal state and county law enforcement agencies. The section also provides auxiliary services to the Post-Release Supervision / Parole Commission Community Supervision and the Extradition Office.
The primary purpose of the Program Coordinator II / Additional Sentence Auditor position is to audit additional sentences for an offenders existing record. This position must be able to determine how the additional sentence will need to be arranged with the existing record. This position must analyze and review the already existing new admission record in detail to determine the precise affect the additional sentence will have on the existing records by utilizing the OPUS (Offender Population Unified System).
This position will verify existing / pending parole and / or post release supervision cases that exist in OPUS. The additional sentence shall be audited according to current policy and procedures for additional sentences. This position must have extensive knowledge of auditing new admission records and clear knowledge of adding on additional sentences to the existing offenders sentence structures in OPUS.

This is a full-time limited position (40 hours per week four days 10 hours per day) with State Benefits

Management Preference
- Thorough knowledge to interpret and apply the North Carolina General Statutes and NCDPS DAC DOP Policies and Procedures including the offenders sentence structure per the Judgment Court Commitments and additional sentences and / or time computations.
- Experience with OPUS (Offender Population Unified System) to discern priority cases and handle according to DAC policy and procedures
- Demonstrated proficiency to communicate in clear and effective oral and written form concerning all DAC DOP DCC and Parole Commission rules and regulations and / or policies procedures that pertain to the offenders sentences.
- Utilize extensive knowledge and skills to plan develop and recommend the implementation of any new sentence auditing policy and procedures when necessary to ensure accuracy of an offenders existing and / or additional sentence structures in OPUS. Consult with all levels of management team and staff within the Combined Records Office as well as DAC DOP DCC A / Gs DPS legal D.A.s Office and Parole / Post Release Supervision Office regarding any existing offender sentence structures in OPUS.
- Ability to modify any existing sentence structures per the additional sentence Judgment and Commitments received from the Courts. Utilize all DAC DOP current and past policies procedures rules and regulations to arrange sentences per the Courts. Enter the Judgment of the Court in the OPUS (Offender Population Unified System) and ensure sentence structure information in OPUS has been entered (precisely) per the additional Judgment and Commitments received from the Courts. Ability to research and interpret NC General Statutes for criminal offenses and verify all information on the Judgment and Commitments are appropriate per applicable sentencing laws.
