Job description

Program Coordinator

The Program Coordinator will support the Professions Advancing and Transforming Health (PATH) Academy at CSUF. The mission of the PATH Academy is to support students in their pursuit of careers in the health professions through academic guidance, experiential learning, and community partnerships. Under the supervision of the PATH Program Manager, the Program Coordinator will aid and support the PATH Academy's events and student programs. The Program Coordinator will develop and deliver program materials and curricula (e.g., workshops, trainings, presentations etc.), assist with student recruitment, and schedule and coordinate program activities. The Program Coordinator is also responsible for program data collection and management, progress report preparation, coordinating service vendor activities, website production supervision and maintenance oversight.

*Please be aware that funding for this position is awarded through a Grant/Contract over a specified period. Employment for this position beyond current Grant/Contract funding is contingent upon continued funding.

Essential Duties

  • Coordinate the grant's student programs, including recruitment, application and selection, program announcements and updates.
  • In collaboration with the PATH Program Manager, assist with coordination of structured and unstructured program activities including campus fairs, panels, field trips, trainings, workshops, and more.
  • Serve as communications liaison amongst the PATH Program Manager, faculty, students, personnel, and community and educational partners.
  • Plan program events in collaboration with campus personnel and in compliance with campus policies.
  • Plan and deliver program workshops focused on professional and personal development and academic success; collaborate with others in the design of the workshops where appropriate.
  • Promote and communicate workshop information to relevant persons, including via social media.
  • Review and monitor student activity for compliance with program goals; report concerns to the PATH Program Manager.
  • Draft, write, and proofread program materials for accuracy, completeness, compliance with policies, formatting, and correct usage in English, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Maintain program files in confidential area for compliance and reporting purposes.
  • Plan, schedule, and attend meetings, where appropriate.
  • Host guest speakers, panelists, and field trips to discuss opportunities within health professions.
  • Assist in overseeing the use of the office space.
  • Update program websites and social media outlets.
  • Establish and maintain program flyers and presentation slides for program events.
  • Coordinate catering for program events.
  • In collaboration with the PATH Program Manager, monitor program interns, mentors, supervisors, faculty.
  • Develop program surveys needed for recruitment, event registration, evaluation, and student feedback.
  • Assist with program evaluation (e.g., coordinate data collection, dissemination) as required.
  • Contribute to research projects related to PATH programming and project outcomes.
  • Perform additional administrative and programmatic tasks as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must have excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Must have excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to follow through on tasks and assignments efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be comfortable working in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft platforms (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Proficiency in Google Platforms (e.g., Gmail, Google Doc, Google Sheets, Google Forms).
  • Proficiency in Canva.
  • Experience related to coordinating programs and/or activities that align with essential functions of the position.
  • A valid California Driver's License and auto insurance policy is required to drive to meetings, trainings, conferences, and other sites as needed to support PATH programming.

EDUCATION: Minimum Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a health-related major (e.g., social work, public health, human services, communication sciences and disorders/speech communication and rhetoric, kinesiology, psychology, sociology, health and physical education/fitness, child and adolescent development, counseling etc.) A Master's degree in a health-related program (e.g., social work, public health, human services, counseling, psychology etc.) is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Prolonged sitting in front of computer. Walking, talking, hearing, pulling, bending, may carry 10-15 pounds of objects/material, not exposed to extreme noise level, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, taste or smell.
