Job description

Our core competencies include systems engineering, program management, logistics, production support, aircraft maintenance, and aviation/aerospace services. We were founded in 2015 and since our establishment, we have been attracting the best talent in our fields of interest enabling us to provide cutting-edge solutions and support to our warfighters. We understand and provide expert consultation on weapons systems acquisition programs, maintenance/modernization programs, and sustainment programs. We know defense and we know aircraft systems.

Albers Aerospace is seeking experienced Program Managers to support growth across multiple contract programs and business areas. This role is central to how Albers delivers on commitments to U.S. Government customers and Tier 1 prime contractors—supporting integrated, cross-functional teams from program award through completion.

The Program Manager is responsible for full program lifecycle execution, including scope, schedule, cost, risk, and customer engagement, while ensuring deliverables meet quality, contractual, and regulatory requirements. This role serves as a key customer interface across government and industry stakeholders and may also support business development activities, including identifying and capturing new opportunities.

The ideal candidate brings a balance of structured program discipline and practical, hands-on execution. They are comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where clarity, accountability, and adaptability are all essential. Compliance, speed, and operational excellence are expected to work together to support mission outcomes.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Support and/or lead capture and proposal activities, including technical approaches, management plans, past performance, and Basis of Estimate (BOE) inputs.
  • Monitor customer priorities, acquisition strategies, and program roadmaps to identify and position Albers for follow-on and new business opportunities.
  • Lead end-to-end program execution from contract award through closeout, managing scope, schedule, cost, and contract deliverables, including CDRLs.
  • Develop and maintain program management artifacts, including Program Management Plans (PMPs), Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), Estimates at Completion (EACs), and customer/internal reporting.
  • Lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Contracts, and other functional areas.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment, accountability, and consistent execution across multi-site teams.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for U.S. Government customers, Contracting Officers, Contracting Officer’s Representatives (CORs), and prime contractor program offices.
  • Prepare and deliver program reviews, status updates, performance reports, and corrective action plans.
  • Maintain clear, proactive, and transparent communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain program risk registers, mitigation plans, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor program financial performance, including budget, forecasts, cost variances, and EVMS reporting, where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and applicable contract requirements throughout program execution.

Note: The duties and responsibilities described on this document are not necessarily a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time; and the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive program management experience on US Government defense contracts
  • Experience managing programs from award through completion, including SOWs, CDRLs, and customer deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional integrated product teams (IPTs)
  • Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and US Government acquisition processes
  • Experience managing program budgets, cost reporting and EACs
  • Ability to develop and maintain risk registers and mitigations plans
  • Experience supporting proposals development and capture activities
  • Ability obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MS Engineering, Systems Management, or related field)
  • PMP certification or DAU Program Management Level III certification
  • 10+ years of experience managing DoD programs across multiple contract types
  • Experience with Cost-Plus and Firm-Fixed-Price contracts
  • Background in aerospace manufacturing, aircraft modification, munitions integration, or ISR systems
  • Experience working with DCMA, DCAA, and contracting officers
  • Familiarity with EVMS, IPMDAR reporting, and audit processes
  • Experience supporting ACAT programs or major defense acquisition efforts
  • Active DoD Secret or Top-Secret clearance

WHY THIS ROLE

This role offers the opportunity to manage meaningful, mission-critical programs within a growing defense organization. Program Managers are trusted with real responsibility, customer engagement, and the ability to directly influence program outcomes.

  • Contribute to programs supporting U.S. warfighter capabilities across multiple domains, including munitions, aircraft, ISR, and advanced technologies
  • Join a company in a growth phase where program management practices and structures continue to evolve
  • Competitive compensation aligned to experience, including performance-based incentives tied to program and organizational outcomes
  • Work in a mission-driven environment that values execution, clarity, and continuous improvement
  • Exposure to a diverse portfolio of technical programs with varying scope and complexity
