Blending deep industry expertise with technology advisory capabilities, we create innovative solutions for leading organizations worldwide. We are looking for exceptional professionals who are passionate about transforming healthcare operations and delivering meaningful business outcomes.

About the Role

As a Consulting Manager Healthcare Product Owner (Payer), you will make an impact by leading healthcare payer transformation initiatives, driving product strategy, and partnering with business and technology stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that improve claims operations, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes.

You will be a valued member of the Cognizant Consulting Healthcare practice and work collaboratively with client stakeholders, business teams, technology teams, product managers, and cross-functional delivery teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as a Product Owner for healthcare payer initiatives, translating business objectives into actionable requirements and product roadmaps.
  • Lead requirements gathering, business process analysis, workflow assessments, and solution design activities.
  • Partner with business and technology teams to develop, test, validate, and implement healthcare claims solutions.
  • Analyze current processes, reports, workflows, and operational procedures to identify opportunities for optimization and automation.
  • Collect and analyze data, perform quantitative assessments, and develop reporting to support business decisions and quality improvement efforts.
  • Support healthcare claims operations through configuration updates, claim hold management, testing activities, and production validation.
  • Generate and coordinate test data required for solution validation and deployment activities.
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure successful delivery of business objectives.
  • Measure and monitor outcomes using metrics, KPIs, and benchmarking methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate collaboration across cross-functional teams while operating within Agile delivery environments.

Work Model

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week at a Cognizant client location in Virginia, United States. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance through our various wellbeing programs.

The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. This may change based on the project you're engaged in, as well as business and client requirements. Rest assured, we will always be clear about role expectations.

What You Must Have to Be Considered

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Healthcare payer industry experience with strong expertise in claims operations and claims processing.
  • Experience in healthcare claims workflow design, business analysis, systems testing, process improvement, and operational transformation.
  • Experience developing and documenting business requirements, business design specifications, user stories, training materials, and process documentation.
  • Experience supporting solution testing, validation, defect management, and production readiness activities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven experience performing quantitative analysis, data validation, reporting, and operational assessments.
  • Experience serving as a liaison between business users and technical teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience using JIRA and QTest.
  • Experience working with Mainframe and PEGA platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

These Will Help You Succeed

  • Experience supporting healthcare claims, provider, and pricing functions.
  • SAFe Agile Certification.
  • 3+ years of Product Owner experience within Agile delivery environments.
  • Experience with Fusion and/or Streamline platforms.
  • Experience leading large-scale payer modernization, digital transformation, or claims transformation programs.
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations, quality improvement methodologies, and operational excellence frameworks.
  • Experience supporting highly regulated healthcare environments.

We're excited to meet people who share our passion for innovation and client success. Don't hesitate to apply, even if you only meet the minimum qualifications listed. We value diverse experiences, transferable skills, and unique perspectives that can help drive meaningful change for our clients.
